Niagara Weekender

railway journey deluxe

Between New York City and Niagara Falls

Four Fantastic Days

Private Charters Available throughout the year

Exciting rail journeys featuring breathtaking views of the majestic Hudson River Valley and upstate New York’s Mohawk River wine country.

Its a dramatic journey across the Empire State enroute to the refreshing splendors of Niagara Falls.  The scenery is incredible as the train twists along the shores of the mighty Hudson River for over 100 miles.  Crossing the Hudson you'll enjoy views of Albany--the Empire State's proud Capitol.  The lush Mohawk River Valley provides our path through the mighty Allegheny Mountains.  See boats and lift locks as we follow the famed Erie Canal and learn the essential role of this waterway in leading development of New York State.

We're rolling out the red carpet as the gleaming "Hickory Creek" parlor/observation car returns to rails following a extensive restoration to its former glory.  Its a glamorous journey as our guests will travel in style aboard the actual tail-end observation car from the famous New York Central "Twentieth Century Limited" train....originally christened by Dwight Eisenhower in 1948.

Relax on a cozy armchair or sofa and enjoy ever-changing up-close views of scenic upstate New York through oversize picture windows.  Delight-in fine meals prepared fresh onboard..  [view example menu]  Socialize with your friends during our traditional afternoon tea service.  Gentle motion and soothing music enhance your experience.  Live entertainment may be featured on selected journeys for you added enjoyment.

A optional tour, just for your guests, can explore the wonders of Niagara Falls.  See the falls up-close on the the legendary "Maid of the Mist" boat ride*, tour Ontario's beautiful Niagara Parks, see and photograph the famous Floral Clock, visit the Welland Canal Centre, sample regional wine and cheese during a structured "wine tasting", see the Whirlpool Rapids of the racing Niagara River, view the spectacular IMAX adventure Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic and of course you'll enjoy the spectacular evening Falls Illuminations and Fireworks*.

Winter Festival of Lights:  In November you'll be dazzled by Twinkling Light Displays, Landscape Lighting, and the nighttime Illumination of the Falls ….Sit back and behold as Niagara Falls transforms into a Magical Winter Wonderland of Lights that Sparkle with Glee!
